STROKE PREVENTION

Stroke is a result of damage to an area of the brain, due to obstructed blood supply. Causes include pressure following hemorrhage from ruptured blood vessel, a clot in an obstructed brain artery, or an embolism. Symptoms lasting over 24 hours signify a full stroke. Their disappearance after a few hours indicate a mild-stroke or much known as transient ischaemic attack.

Usually the main cause of stroke is when a patient is having a high blood pressure. To prevent stroke from happening we should always do the following:

1. Monitor our blood pressure.
2. Maintain a healthy blood vessels through lifestyle balance.
3. Maintain a healthy cholesterol levels.
4. Stop smoking.
5. Medical supplements and vitamins are advised.
6. Avoid eating unhealthy foods that can cause or lead to high blood pressure.
7. Eat a balance diet.
8. Sleep early. Avoid stressful activities for it can cause high blood pressure.

Many of my patients use garlic to lower their blood pressure. They boil the garlic and they let the water cool down and drink it. Garlic has a very good reputation in lowering our blood pressure.
